1. Nicki   Minaj   -   Anaconda: 


- "Anaconda" is the second single released from Nicki Minaj's thrid studio album "The Pinkprint" (2014); 


- Released on August 4th, 2014, "Anaconda" heavily samples "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-a-Lot;


- An accompanying video for the song was directed by Colin Tilley and released on August 19th, 2014. Following the video's release, it broke the 24-hour streaming record on Vevo by accumulating 19.6 million views in its first day of release, now having more than 360 million views. Shot in Los Angeles, California, it features a cameo appearance by fellow rapper and labelmate Drake; 


- "Anaconda" instrumental was originally intended for fellow female rapper and musician Missy Elliott, but was scrapped and then re-recorded by Minaj. However, on August 24, 2014, Elliott revealed to fans and followers via her Twitter account that she never received the alleged instrumental;


-  The cover art for the single went viral on the web after being revealed. On various digital music stores, the cover art is censored with the Parental Advisory label over Minaj's buttocks.


2. Katy   Perry   -   Roar:


- In the jungle of music charts, Katy Perry released "Roar", her lead single from the album "Prism", on August 10th, 2013;


- "Roar" is a power pop song with lyrics centering around standing up for oneself and self-empowerment; 


- The video was released on September 5th, 2013, directed by Grady Hall and Mark Kudsi, and filmed at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden in three days; 


- Katy Perry becomes the queen of the jungle after her boyfriend (actor and model Brian Nagel) gets attacked by a tiger, following their plane crush in the middle of the tropical forests; 


- The song topped the charts in 97 countries and is one the best-selling singles worldwide, with global sales of more than 9.9 millions of units.


3. Ionel   Istrati   –   Wake   Me   Up: 


- "Wake Me Up" is one of the highly appreciated singles released by Ionel Istrati, a talented singer originating from The Republic of Moldova, ex-contestant of The Voice - Romania;


- The song was produced by Randi in the Famous Production studios;


- The music video is in perfect accordance with the melancholic, yet intense vibe of the song; 


- Directed by Spoiala Brothers, it was shot through five days spent into the rain forest & on the beaches of exotic Maldives; 


- The video features Victoria's Secret model - Xenia Deli, who plays the role of Ionel's girlfriend.  


4. Destiny's   Child   feat.   Da   Brat   –   Survivor: 


- Destiny's Child - "Survivor" is one of the hits released by Beyonce Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, from their third studio album of the same name (2001); 


- Shot in January 2001, the video premiered on "MTV - Making the Video" on March 6th, 2001, and is styled in the sense of three survivors living on an uninhabited island. It also shows a brief prelude to how the girls got shipwrecked;


- In 1999, Destiny's Child members LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett split from Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland, and were replaced by Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin. However, soon afterwards Franklin was also dropped from the group. According to Knowles, the group was compared to the reality series "Survivor", which inspired her to "write us out of all that negativity";


- Former group members, LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson filed, a lawsuit against Knowles, Rowland, and former manager Mathew Knowles; they claimed some of the lyrics in "Survivor", such as "You thought I wouldn't sell without you/sold nine million", violated a previous agreement that prevented either party from insulting the other;


- The song won the Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals at the 2002 Grammy Awards.


5. Guns'N'Roses   –   Welcome   to   the   Jungle:


- This playlist couldn't end without the song giving its title - "Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns'N'Roses;


- Featured on their 1987 debut studio album, "Appetite for Destruction", "Welcome to the Jungle" is the band's second single; 


- Geffen Records was having a hard time selling the video to MTV. David Geffen made a deal with the network, and the video was aired only one time around 5:00 AM on a Sunday morning. As soon as the video was aired, the networks received numerous calls from people wanting to see the video again; 


- "Welcome to the Jungle" was often used as the opener at Guns'N'Roses concerts, being played at almost every show on the "Appetite for Destruction Tour" and "Use Your Illusion Tour". Nowadays, it occupies the second spot on the setlist; 


-  In 2009 "Welcome to the Jungle" was named the greatest hard rock song of all times by VH1.
